The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has clarified that the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) attack in Pigcawayan, North Cotabato have nothing to do with Marawi's encroachment.

AFP Spokesman Brig said. Gen. Restituto Padilla said in Mindanao Hour, this is just an harassment or propaganda of BIFF to show that they are still "existing."

According to Padilla, the BIFF was shocked because the military responded quickly and immediately as they aim to attack the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) in North Cotabato.

Padilla said that this action of the BIFF is but nothing compared to what the Maute Group did in Marawi City.
